Research Interests
General area of interest is signals and systems, including digital signal/image processing, control, communication, and computer system integration.

--Digital signal processing: array signal processing, parameter estimation, spectrum analysis, system identification, kalman filtering, target tracking, neural network. These techniques are widely used for radar, sonar, radio, seismic, speech and other signal processing in applications of electronic surveillance, telecommunications, astronomy, geography, oceanography, and bio-medical science.

--Image processing: imaging (digital/optical/acoustic), wavelet analysis, image compression and transmission, computer vision. Advanced techniques in these area are demanded in bio-medical engineering, remote sensing, HDTV.

--Communication: mobile and wireless communication, coding technique for fault-tolerant computering.

--Computer system integration: special-purpose computers and workstations are to be integrated with signal/image processing elements, for instance, CAD/CAM/CAE workstations.
