Research Interests
In fifty years of Stanford research I've developed basic technology for communications satellites, telephone switches, cellular network design and signal processing. I have obtained sixteen patents in this field. I've worked with governments in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. My major emphasis today is on reaching unserved rural populations.
For last twenty years I have also directed courses in international politics and economic development. The multi-disciplinary courses develop papers on War and Peace, World Trade and the Environment and Prejudice and Poverty.
