The mechanical talking head is covered by a rubber skin. You can use either kits shown above, your own similar constructions, or the OWI arm, as in this particular example. The gripper emulates the mouth.

You can use playwood, plastic or aluminum for the construction. No special tools are needed. We purchase playwood in Tammies Hobbies in Beaverton, plastic in TAB PLASTICS, and aluminum in shops like Tektronix Country Store or Wacky Willy. Tammies Hobbies have a wide selection of servo motors, but it is cheaper to order them by mail in JDR, Jameco or Robo-Store.

One crazy idea to consider
