Robot Soccer Group
- 1. Ann R. Warren-Redman
warrenredman@cybcon.com
Responsible for programming of low-level movement commands for walking hexapod in Basic language.
Develop a program "Player".
First Task:
Familiarize yourself with Basic to control hexapod robots. Documentation
is in the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory.
How to download, how to modify existing gaits. Develop a kicking action of a leg.
Think about adding a sensor to the leg.
You will obtain commands by radio from the program Strategy Planner on the main PC.
- 2. Mikhail Pivtoraiko
Group Leader.
Responsible for development of image processing/pattern recognition software and
project integration.
First Task:
Develop a program "Field Seer".
A camera on the ceiling sees the entire soccer field.
Develop software to convert image of the field
with robots
to a description of coordinate positions and orientations of each robot of our and opposite team.
To classify each robot with high reliability, they will have some kind of marks on their tops.
For instance, crosses, circles, or other easy to recognize symbols.
This information is given by Field Seer to Strategy Planner program, which will develop movements
and actions of each robot of our team. These actions will be transmitted by radio
to each robot of our team.
These both programs will be located on the main PC.
- 3. Amey Tarte.
amey@pdx.edu
First Task:
Develop on a main PC a program Strategy Planner program, which will create movements
and actions of each robot of our team.
The program must be written in Visual C++.
There are many web pages with similar programs for wheeled robots.
You can start from adapting them to walking robots.
- 4. Frederick T. Burkard.
WWW Page
Mechanical Design.
Rick will be responsible for development of mechanical/electrical robots and coordination
of work with other people building robots.
First Task:
Adopt the Lynxmotion hexapod for soccer.
Work closely with Ann R. Warren-Redman on programming.
Develop all movements necessary for soccer,
especially ball kicking and withdrawal from body conflict with another player.
- 5. Martin Lukac.
Intelligent Agent Specialist.
First Task:
Working with Amey Tarte develop two strategies for players.
In the first strategy each player is egoistic.
In the second strategy each player thinks about the winning for the whole team.
All programming done in Visual C++ on main PC.
- 6. Craig M. Jurs.

Mechanical Design.
First Task:
Together with Rick Burkard build the new type of hexapod from aluminum elements.
It should have 12 motors and be able to kick the ball reliably.
It will be electronically the same as our old Lynxmotion hexapod with added radio control.
